2025 Weekend Themes and Activities Every weekend at Bluegill Lake Family Camping Resort offers a different theme.  Crafts and activities are based around the theme.  Participation is optional and some fees may apply ($).

April 25-27, 2025: Opening Weekend   The campground will be opening for the 2025 season. There will be no planned  The weekend is all about getting back to nature, relaxing and enjoying family and friends.

May 2-4, 2025: Mexican Fiesta  We’ll be making crafts and playing games with a Mexican flare. Saturday evening  there will be a Mexican themed potluck (notify the office of your dish in advance). 

May 9-11, 2025: Mother’s Day  It’s time to celebrate MOM. We’ll make cards and gifts on Saturday morning.  Sunday morning the celebration continues with breakfast in the Activity Center ($1/person).

May 16-18, 2025: Pet Weekend  This weekend is all about our 4-legged family members. We'll be making pet toys during crafts on Saturday morning. There'll be a pet parade and owner/pet look alike contest. It'll be a perfect weekend.

May 23-26, 2025: Memorial Weekend  The unofficial start of summer. This weekend is filled with crafts and activities for all ages.  Make sure to bring the bicycles for the annual bicycle parade.  

May 30-June 1, 2025: A Taste of Italy  Crafts will have an Italian flare. Join us on Saturday evening for an Italian inspired  potluck at the Activity Center (please notify the office of your dish in advance).

June 6-8, 2025: Chocolate Weekend  We’ll be crafting things from Chocolate, playing games and of course,  a Chocolate Slip-n-Slide.

June 13-15, 2025: Father’s Day  It’s time to celebrate Dad. Crafts will consist of making gifts and cards.  The celebration continues Sunday morning with breakfast in the Activity Center ($1/person).

June 20-22, 2025: Spring into Summer  As summer begins the campground takes on a renewed energy for the season.  All crafts and activities will be Sun based. 

June 27-29, 2025: Natural Habitat Weekend This weekend entails hiking, crafting natural items and exploring and expanding your knowledge on birds, reptiles and what's important to know when exploring. On Saturday evening, join us for a Smokin' Fun Potluck in the Activity Center.

July 3-6, 2025: Independence Day Weekend  This weekend at Bluegill Lake is like a company picnic. Time to relax and enjoy being together.  There’ll be numerous activities throughout the weekend, patriotic  crafts, games and the bicycle parade (because it is all about the kids).

July 11-13, 2025: Halloween Weekend  Halloween is always fun, that’s why we do it in July.  There'll be crafts, a Halloween party, trick-or-treating and a site decorating contest.  It’s sure to be a spooktacular time.

July 18-20, 2025: Christmas in July We'll deck the halls with crafts, a holiday party, and a site decorating contest, and the jolly dude himself, Santa! 

July 25-27, 2025: Western Weekend/Chili Cookoff Potluck  Mosey on down for a weekend of rootin-tootin good fun. We’ll be craftin, gamin, and racin.  Saturday evening, there’s a Chili Cook-off potluck (prizes for the best chili).

August 1-3, 2025: Lake Fun Weekend This weekend is about enjoying the lake. We'll have a Kid's Fishing Contest, Water Relay Races, and Cardboard Boat Races (you make/bring - Cardboard and duct tape only).

August 8-10, 2025: Summer Celebration Summer based crafts and tie dying ($-Bring your own or Bluegill Lake Coloring Tee's are available for purchase). Saturday afternoon, join us for an Ice Cream Float Social ($).

August 15-17, 2025: Air & Space This weekend is all about things that fly: Airplanes, rockets and balloons. We'll craft things that take flight and test their capabilities.

August 22-24, 2025: Race Weekend/Smokin' Fun Potluck If you like racing, this is your weekend. We'll be crafting things to race and testing their capabilities. Saturday evening, join us for another Smokin’ Fun Potluck (bring samples of smoked/barbecued delicacies to share).

August 29-September 1, 2025: Labor Day/Glow ​We’ll have the bicycle parade, greased watermelon contest, watermelon eating contest,  glitter tattoos, the annual glow parade and glow site contest and much more.  So, get your glow on and let’s illuminate Bluegill Lake!

September 5-7, 2025: Grandparents Day  We’ll be making cards and gifts to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa.  Sunday morning join us for breakfast in the Activity Center ($1/person).

September 12-14, 2025: Souper Bingo Saturday Saturday evening bring your favorite soup to this unique potluck.  We’ll play bingo, converse and of course, eat soup!

September 19-21, 2025: Nature Abounds This is your opportunity to enjoy Michigan nature. There are no planned activities for the weekend. Take a hike, enjoy a comp fire, relax, enjoy the sights and sounds of the season. 

September 26-28, 2025: Season Wind Down Time to enjoy Fall with peace and tranquility, beautiful colors and nature.  Take a hike or a nap and enjoy a campfire with family and friends.

October 3-5, 2025: Autumn Harvest Fest Saturday evening join us as we gather for the last potluck of season. We supply the Turkey and/or Ham and ask the guests to be bring a dish to pass (preferably a fare of the season), Please notify the office of your dish in advance. This is a time to relax and visit with your friends and neighbors all while taking in the smells and scenery of the season.

October 10-12, 2025: Closing Weekend This is the final weekend of the season.  Relax, enjoy and reconnect with nature, family and friends one final time in 2025.
